Friendship Wreaths
At the Capuano Early Childhood Center and at the Brown School, the kindergarten classes read a number of stories about friendship including Jacqueline Woodson’s The Other Side, which is about a little black girl befriending a white girl at a time when segregation was the unfortunate norm. We talked about what it means to be friends with all kinds of people in the world. We talked about sharing and using kind words with our friends . We also read Will I Have A Friend? by Mariam Cohen and Little Blue and Little Yellow by Leo Lionni. After storytime, we constructed Friendship Wreaths. We traced, designed and cut out the tracings of our hands in order to make the wreaths.

i think friendship[ is a good thing because when you have a firend that care fore you, you feel really love. also i dont think that was fair to the two girl because it them that are being firends and they think it ok for them ,to be firend

I think that friendship is an excellent thing to have with other people. I know that my friends are great, funny, and awesome to have around. They always have my back and are really true to me no matter what happens.

That is a very nice project. Its very colorful and it shows kids of every color joining hands together and being united. Good job and you guys did a very nice job with this project. Keep up the good work!

I think that making friendship bracelets is a great idea it shows that two people can be friends no matter what.

This is a really great way to teach little kids about the unfairness of segregation. I think that project is really great!

Capuano and brown school you did a nice project. I really like your i also have two best friends and there always going to be with me. Thanks to my shcool i find two best friend. And i want to say nice work i really like your work becuase it is true what you said about friends
